Listen before you buy: Arcade Fire, Ray LaMontagne

Those who have yet purchased Arcade Fire’s new album The Suburbs can listen to the album in its entirety here. The 16-track record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 album charts this week, selling 156,000 copies. The band also played at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Alpharetta on Wednesday, with Spoon as the opening act.

Ray LaMontagne fans may have to wait until Aug 17 for the release of the artist’s new album God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise, but here’s a chance to check out the record before it’s released. LaMontagne will be performing Aug. 23 at Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta.

Check it out soon, because these tracks won’t be available for long before you’ll actually have to go out and buy the album.

What do you think? Are these the artists’ best work to date? What are some of your favorite songs of theirs?

Fall is here and we are off to a rainy start in the Peach State. …

  • I’ve never listened to Arcade Fire, but I’ve had some friends that are diehard fans. I am a Ray LaMontagne fan, however. Just wanted everyone to know he’s actually performing with David Gray (AHHHHHH!) at Chastain on August 23rd, for those who are interested. 🙂
