New year, new entry

By: David Schick

GPC Clarkston will soon have a new driveway entrance off Memorial Drive thanks to our friends at Dekalb County.

The new entrance is designed to help provide students with easier access to the parking deck, instead of the current method of going around your elbow to get to your nose.

“Dekalb County officials have spent in the neighborhood of $1.5 million purchasing the tract on Memorial Drive and building the entrance road. GPC will pay for lighting the road and any other improvements like fences, landscaping and signage,” according to Lewis Godwin, director of campus planning and projects.

Godwin also commented that Dekalb County plans to make a median cut and a traffic light at the intersection of the new driveway on Memorial Drive.
