Calling all poets

By Tia Heard

Poet and author M. Ayodele Heath will be at Dunwoody campus on March 28, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to perform in the annual Poetry Slam held in the auditorium of the C-building in room C1100.  Creative Loafing describes Heath as “a lanky African-American man with arms that stretch and reach as his stories unfold.”

Although Heath is the special featured guest he will not be the only performer of the night. All GPC students are encouraged to participate in this year’s open mic Poetry Slam by taking the stage and sounding off your best pieces of poetic work before an audience full of poetry lovers.

Please bring your best work and join in on the fun, free food and drinks. Self-expression and freedom of speech is encouraged, but please be sensitive to the cultural and spiritual beliefs of those in attendance.

If you would like more information about this year’s open mic poetry slam please send an email to poetryslam@gmail.com.
