GPC Dunwoody Campus will be hosting a panelist discussion about human trafficking on March 29th, at 12:00 p.m. in Room B-2100 of the Student Life Center.
This panel is the vision of SGA Senator Christine Becker, who has been working together with the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and has been sponsored by Student Life; to put this discussion together. Seating for this event is limited and lunch will be provided by GPC.
The panel will include modern day abolitionists from the Atlanta area as guest speakers. The panelists will include Debbie Cannon from the Out of Darkness organization and Merridith Thomas from the Wellspring Living organization Students and faculty members can learn about various ways to become involved in the fight to stop this modern slave trade.
In expressing her support for this event, SGA Secretary Mollie Duff stated “I believe this is a huge issue in the world that needs to be discussed, even though it can be hard to talk about at times, and since this is Women’s History Month it couldn’t be a better time.”
