Session conducted on 18 March 2012 by Jeff Pearlman, author and columnist for SI.com

  • Get noticed by making EVERY story count.
  • LISTEN to the people you are interviewing, don’t just record and scribble notes.  Actually listen.
  • Be a little cynical.  Check things out two or three times.
  • When writing for smaller school newspaper, pitch your story ideas to the local newspapers of your players so there family and friends back home can see them in the paper.  Great way to get published in different places.
